In the late 1960‘s there was Cook & Son TV & Radio repair. Virginia Cook would sit there and crochet while her husband and son took care of the repair work. People started asking her could she teach them how to crochet. As that got more popular she contacted some companies about starting a yarn store. Little by little people were coming in for yarn more than repairs so in 1970 they legally changed the name of the business to Cook’s Arts & Crafts Shoppe. Up until April 2010 Virginia was there 6 days a week. Virginia passed away but her Son & Grand-Daughter continues the business Virginia started.

We now not only sell yarn but just about any other crafting item you need. We also order from our distributors on a weekly bases so if there is something you need in bulk or that we don’t carry we can gladly order it for you at no additional cost or shipping fees. We normally order on Saturdays and then receive it by the next Thursday. Express shipments are available for emergencies but shipping fees would apply.

We offer beginner classes, for adults only, in Crochet, Knitting & Wire Jewelry Making, Tatting, Basic Jewelry & Chain Maille. Step 2 & 3 classes are available when you want to take on a new challenge. We also have project classes where all materials are included and you make a full project over a course of many sessions. Classes are by appointment only during our regular business hours. See pictures from our classes here. For more information and full pricing please give us a call.

But maybe you don’t need a class, maybe you just can’t figure out that stitch or instruction. Don’t let yourself get frustrated. Throw it all in a bag and stop by the shoppe. I will do my best to figure it out. If I can’t, we have a lot of customers that are experts in their craft and are always willing to help out a new crafter, usually at no cost.

We also offer Wedding and favor needs. Customers have been able to design their whole wedding from our catalogs. From their vail and train to their favors and center pieces. Let us help you plan for that special day. Just plan ahead, some items are on hand and others are ordered special.

Attention Teachers, Scout Leaders and other groups. Bring in your tax exempt certificate when you shop. You will save 10% on all purchases and pay no tax. We also have a lot of kids craft ideas and fund raising crafts.

Let the Cook Family help you be more creative. Contact us today.

View some of the press coverage we have gotten over the years. Advertising is so expensive and usually out of a small businesses price range so its always nice when a publication says something nice, for FREE. I’ve also posted of the comments customers have left over the years at different web sites. Please take a moment and leave your comment at your favorite review site.
